Hire the Grandmothers
By Gary White
To continue traveling at our advancing age (85 years for me and 75 for my wife and partner, Elyn), we have increasingly relied on the help of a group of unseen guides and helpers that reside in the spirit realm. We give them names, such as Elen of the Ways and Brigid, although we know that these guides are in a realm that is beyond our earthly minds, and they have no earthly names. However, they respond to the names we give them and often help us in ways that sometimes seem truly magical.
We were talking with our friend Marchiene Reinstra about how effective these guides have been for us. I mentioned that, while their guidance has been unerring, they don’t seem to be concerned with logistics, such as airline reservations, hotels, and bus schedules. We need to work out these details ourselves. This is often quite expensive since we make plans at the last minute. Marchiene responded that we should try asking the Grandmothers for help. They are quite experienced at getting things done—they´ve had lifetimes of practice! We agreed to give them a try, and since we were in the process of making a move from Portugal to Spain, we asked them to help make the move as smooth as possible.
A word about “the Grandmothers.” There is an International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. They are well-known as wisdom keepers and have written several books. These are the Grandmothers on this side of the veil, but the Grandmothers that we are referring to are part of a much larger group that resides in the spirit realm. As such, they have a higher and broader perspective. We know that “the Grandmothers” is just a name we have given to these spirit helpers, but they appear to respond to that name.
When we asked the Grandmothers to help with our move to Spain, we were immediately amazed by how well things worked out. First, following Marchiene´s advice, we made a detailed list of what we wanted in an apartment: two or three bedrooms, a view, a balcony, a decent kitchen, and two bathrooms, somewhere in the Old Quarter of Girona, priced around 1250€, etc. We then let go of all expectations and let the Grandmothers take charge of the process.
After looking at several apartments that almost met our needs, Elyn realized that what we really wanted was an apartment in the Old Quarter of Girona that was away from the tourist traffic, had an elevator, and with convenient shopping nearby. When she next looked at the apartment listings online, she saw a new listing that had been put up just minutes before and met the criteria. We contacted the realtor, who took us to look at the apartment the next day. It had everything we wanted, including extras we hadn´t thought to ask for, such as a jacuzzi, built-in bookshelves, and office space with a large desk and corkboard. This gave Elyn everything she needed for her workspace.
We immediately said we wanted this apartment. The owners said they were delighted to be renting to us, would put in additional furniture and a washer-dryer, and would give us a five-year lease, which is more than we could have hoped for. The price was right and the location was perfect. We thanked the Grandmothers profusely and relaxed in the knowledge that we were going to be living in an ideal environment. I could go on and on with further opportunities that fell into our laps, but you get the idea. The Grandmothers are masters at planning the details.
The process of leaving Sintra, Portugal, has been equally smooth. Several months ago, we made the acquaintance of Elainne, a young woman who teaches yoga and works part-time at a restaurant in our neighborhood. When Elyn had difficulty with the app for the online Portuguese postal/customs portal, she took her computer down to the restaurant and asked Elainne for help. She was amazed at her skills in negotiating the online system. Now that we were leaving Portugal, we needed to terminate various internet and utility contracts and find a moving company. Elyn messaged Elainne and asked if we could hire her to help us negotiate the move from Sintra. Elainne was delighted and set to work on our behalf immediately. She helped us locate a local mover to transport our stuff to Spain. She took care of all the details since the mover doesn´t speak English or Spanish. Elainne came to our apartment and went down the list of things we needed done, and in one brief meeting had it all arranged. Thank you, Elainne, and thank you, Grandmothers.
You might ask what the Grandmothers have to do with our finding Elainne, but I can assure you that the Grandmothers have millions of helping hands on this side of the veil that they call upon as needed.
When you need help with anything, I recommend calling upon the Grandmothers. I think you will be amazed by the results. The Grandmothers don´t work free of charge, but their fees are negotiable and fitted to your individual talents and skills. First and foremost, what you want must be for the highest good. If you have any shady plans, don´t call on the Grandmothers. They can be ruthless when provoked. Next, you must agree to use your talents and skills on their behalf—in other words, to be of service to them. For example, this article is part of my payment to the Grandmothers. That is because one of my skills is writing. The people who have helped us in our move to Spain provided their services as payment to the Grandmothers for services rendered to them, whether they knew it or not.
It isn´t necessary to be consciously aware of the Grandmothers to be a part of their worldwide interconnecting web. They are perfectly happy to work with people´s unconscious minds, and they do so regularly. The only requirement is a desire to do good and be of service. When you share your skills with others, you automatically accrue a balance in your personal Grandmother´s account. It´s that simple. And never forget to express your gratitude to the Grandmothers and all their human helpers.
In summary, what is required is personal integrity, the desire to be of service, and an attitude of ongoing gratitude. The next time you need help, try calling on the Grandmothers—and see what happens!
